Self-esteem is a word used to describe confidence is one’s own self worth, abilities and personal value.  How well do you like or appreciate yourself?  Self-esteem is often seen as a personality trait.  It can influence our lives in many ways, from relationships, professional success and even mental health.

Poor self-esteem can lead to depression, poor performance and even lead to abusive situations.  On the other hand, too much self-love can lead to feeling of self entitlement, arrogance and narcissistic behaviors.

It may seem that it is difficult to boost your self-esteem.  I can assure you that you can.

Here’s how to become a positive self-love machine:

  1. Remove negative self talk from your life.  There are enough people to bring you down so you don’t need to talk down to yourself.  You are the perfect YOU.  Unique.  Lovable.  Awesome.  No-one else can be you.  I love using affirmations on a daily basis.

  2. Remove toxic people and situations from your life.  Sometimes it may be family.  That’s ok.  Love them from afar.

  3. Kill the guilt.  Guilt comes from granting another permission to make you feel bad.

  4. Connect with people that have similar interest as you.

  5. Do things you love to do.  Draw, paint, sing, dance, run, basketweave.

  6. Read books that add value to your life.

  7. Listen to uplifting music.

  8. Stay away from CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc.

  9. Trust yourself.  If you say you’re going to do something, do it.  Train your mind, that you are committed to being the best version of you.

  10. Exercise regularly. Boosting your energy levels, increasing oxygen, releasing endorphins and improving muscle tone can make you feel better and boost your self-esteem.

There is no need to struggle with a negative self-image.  You can break through those chains that are holding you hostage.  I’m here to help.
